Angry Prayers | Healing, Prayers, Moms, Anger, Faith

Have you ever been angry with God?

Are you walking through a season so painful that you've started to wonder if God is angry with you?

Have you been praying and praying but starting to wonder if God is even listening?

Have you put off praying because you just don't know what to say?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, this podcast is for you.

Angry Prayers is a podcast for hurting moms navigating grief, loss, heartbreak, disappointment, unanswered prayers, and life's hardest seasons.... also known as the hell of it.

It's for the mom whose faith feels shaken, whose heart feels broken, and whose prayers are messy.

Together, we'll have honest conversations about what it means to trust God when life doesn't make sense. We'll talk about pain, anger, grief, healing, hope, and the kind of faith that survives even when everything around you feels like it's falling apart.

Each episode will help you:

• Strengthen and restore your faith during difficult seasons
• Find hope when God feels distant
• Bring your honest emotions to God without guilt or shame
• Discover that questioning God doesn't disqualify you from His love
• Develop healing faith in the middle of life's hardest moments

Why should you listen?

Because I've lived it.

I've experienced devastating loss, heartbreak, disappointment, and seasons that left me asking questions I never thought I'd ask. I've cried out to God through tears, confusion, frustration, and anger. I've wrestled with my faith while desperately trying to hold on to it at the same time.

What I've learned is that God is not afraid of our questions. He is not intimidated by our doubts. And He doesn't stop loving us when our prayers are messy, or even filled with anger.

If you're looking for healing faith in the middle of a hard season, I'd love for you to join me.

Follow @AngryPrayers for encouragement, honest conversations about faith, and reminders that you're not walking through the hell of it alone.

We put it on shirts. We say it boldly. We celebrate the truth that Jesus defeated sin and death.
But here’s the question I couldn’t stop thinking about:
Jesus won… but have we?
Because knowing about Jesus isn’t the same as knowing Him. Wearing His name isn’t the same as representing Him. And calling ourselves Christians should change more than what we believe, it should change the way we live, love, forgive, speak, and treat the people around us.
In today’s episode, we’re talking about where JESUS WON comes from, what His victory actually means for us, and why wearing His name carries a responsibility.
Because when you walk out the door wearing a shirt that says JESUS WON, somebody may be watching who doesn’t know Him yet.
So straighten your crown, Queen. 👑
Jesus won. Now let’s live like we believe it.

What if courage doesn’t mean you’re no longer afraid?
What if fear and courage can actually sit at the same table, and you get to decide which one gets the final say?
In this Front Porch Friday episode of Angry Prayers, we’re talking about what courage really looks like when fear is still very much present.
I’m sharing a few stories from my own week, including a Ferris wheel I was VERY ready to get off of 😂, watching my daughter finally swing the bat after fear had kept her frozen at the plate, and a pretty exciting first for me: being a guest on May Renfro’s Hope Again podcast and sharing Colton’s story.
Because maybe being brave isn’t about waiting until you’re not scared anymore.
Maybe it’s swinging the bat while you’re scared.
Getting on the ride while you’re scared.
Saying yes while you’re scared.
Taking the next step while you’re scared.
Fear may have a seat at the table, but it doesn’t get to make the decisions.
Grab your coffee and come sit on the porch with me. ❤️

What if the thing stealing your peace isn’t what happened, but how hard you’re fighting against what already is?
In this episode of Angry Prayers, we’re talking about how to let go of people, outcomes, and expectations you can’t control, and trust God with what comes next.
Inspired in part by Mel Robbins’ Let Them Theory, we’ll talk about allowing people to make their own choices, accepting when relationships and seasons change, and why “it is what it is” doesn’t mean you don’t care. Sometimes acceptance simply means recognizing what is true, loosening your grip, and asking, “Okay, God… what do I do from here?”
We’ll also look at what Scripture shows us about people walking away, relationships changing, and trusting that God’s purpose for your life doesn’t disappear when a person, plan, or season does.
Because some things aren’t yours to fix. Some people aren’t yours to convince. And some seasons aren’t yours to extend.
Seasonal doesn’t mean meaningless. ❤️
If you’re struggling to let go, accept what you can’t change, or trust God when life isn’t unfolding the way you expected, grab your coffee and come sit with me.
It is what it is, but that doesn’t mean it’s all it will ever be.

What happens when your own thoughts scare you?
What if your brain suddenly doesn’t feel like your own? What if you’re experiencing intrusive thoughts you don’t want, panic you can’t explain, or anxiety that makes you wonder, “Am I losing control?”
In today’s Front Porch Friday, we’re having a very real conversation about mental health, anxiety, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, psychiatric medication, suicide, faith, and asking for help.
I’m also sharing a part of my own story that I don’t talk about often, the terrifying mental-health experience I went through about 15 years ago, the unwanted thoughts that made me afraid of my own mind, the nights I slept clutching my Bible, the times my mom and I sat outside an emergency room just so I could feel close to help, and the phone calls that sometimes consisted of nothing more than, “Mom, just talk to me.”
We’re also talking about something I believe deserves more attention: advocating for yourself when it comes to medication. Ask questions. Keep an updated medication list. Make sure every doctor and specialist treating you knows what else you are taking. Ask why a medication is being prescribed, how long you’re expected to take it, what side effects to watch for, and when it should be reevaluated.
And please hear me clearly: this episode is not medical advice. I am not a doctor, psychiatrist, therapist, counselor, or pharmacist. I’m sharing my personal experience. Never start, stop, change, or taper a prescribed medication based on something you hear in this episode. Talk with your doctor, prescriber, or pharmacist about your individual care.
Most importantly, if your own mind is scaring you today, please tell somebody.
An unwanted thought is not automatically a desire.
A frightening thought does not automatically define your character.
Needing help does not mean you have failed God.
Prayer and treatment do not have to be enemies.
And you do not have to survive the night by yourself.
Please stay.
Stay long enough to ask for help.
Stay long enough for someone to sit beside you.
Stay long enough to discover that this moment was not forever.
Stay for morning. ❤️
⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains discussion of anxiety, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, psychiatric medication, mental-health crises, and suicide. Please take care of yourself while listening.
CRISIS SUPPORT: If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Free, confidential support from trained crisis counselors is available 24/7. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Straighten that crown, talk to Jesus throughout your whole day, and keep walking through the hell of it. I’ll be walking with you. ❤️

What happens when you look around at your life and realize it looks NOTHING like you thought it would?
Maybe you thought you'd be married by now. Maybe you thought you'd have the career, the house, the family, the financial stability, or at least have some idea what you wanted to be when you grew up. 😂 Instead, you're wondering if you made too many wrong turns, wasted too much time, or somehow missed God's calling for your life.
I've been there.
At 30, I was a single mom raising four boys, looking at my life and feeling like I was already behind. Now, at 48, I can look back and see something I couldn't see then: maybe I hadn't missed my calling at all. Maybe I just hadn't gotten there yet.
In this episode of Angry Prayers, we're talking about trusting God when life doesn't go as planned, letting go of the timelines we created for ourselves, starting over after mistakes and disappointments, and believing that God can still bring purpose and beauty from a story that feels messy.
If you've ever wondered, “Is it too late for me?” “Did I ruin my life?” or “Did I miss what God had for me?”.... come sit with me.
Your story isn't over just because this chapter didn't look the way you expected.
Straighten that crown. 👑❤️

Life was LIFE-ING this week, and I never actually made it to the porch. So today, we’re chatting from my car at football practice! Come catch up with me on football, motherhood, a pretty exciting Angry Prayers milestone, what I’ve been working on behind the scenes, and a little reminder that sometimes showing up doesn’t look the way we planned... and that’s okay. Grab your favorite drink and come sit with me… wherever we happen to be.

Has your prayer life been slacking lately? Maybe you want to pray more, but somewhere along the way, prayer started feeling like something you needed the perfect time, the perfect place, and the perfect words to do.
Girl… stop making prayer so complicated. 💜
Prayer doesn’t have to be a grand event. You don’t have to be sitting in your Bible study chair with worship music playing and a candle burning to talk to Jesus. You can talk to Him while you’re driving, folding laundry, making dinner, sitting in the school pickup line, or lying in bed at night.
In this episode, we’re talking about how to build a stronger prayer life simply by inviting Jesus into the ordinary moments of your day.
Because prayer isn’t about saying all the right words.
It’s about relationship.
So if you’ve been wondering how to pray more, how to become more consistent in prayer, or how to talk to God throughout your day, come sit on the porch with me.
Let’s stop overcomplicating prayer and just start talking to Jesus. 💜

Ever had an entire argument with someone who wasn’t even there? 😂 Or convinced yourself something was wrong based on a two-word text?
Girl… get out of your own head.
In this episode, we’re talking about overthinking, worry, intuition vs. fear, and learning to separate the facts from the stories we create in our minds. I’m also sharing one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned: worrying about the people I love has never given me control over what happens, it has only stolen joy from the moments I have right now.
We’ll talk about taking our thoughts captive, trusting God with what we can’t control, and remembering this:
You don’t have to sacrifice today’s joy trying to protect yourself from tomorrow’s pain.
Come laugh with me, learn with me, and maybe ask yourself:
Did God tell me that… or did I make that crap up in my head? 😂

This Front Porch Friday episode was an emotional one.
Sunday marks 11 years since I lost my son, Colton, and as that hard date on the calendar approaches, my mind wants to replay the day we lost him.
But this year, I’m trying to remember something different: the day he left this earth wasn’t the day his story ended.
In this episode, we’re talking about those dates that mean nothing to the rest of the world but everything to us, why joy and grief are allowed to sit on the same porch, and how we can honor the people we’ve lost without letting the worst day become the only day we remember.
This isn’t just for a mom who has lost a child. It’s for anyone who has ever loved, and lost, someone.
Grab a seat on the porch. There were some tears in this one. 🤍

Have you ever wondered if you’ve sinned too much, messed up too badly, or gone too far for God to ever use you again?
In this episode, we’re looking at Peter’s failure and restoration, and the powerful truth that Jesus already knows your whole story and still invites you to come to Him. We’ll talk about sin, genuine repentance, forgiveness, shame, consequences, and what it means to believe that your worst chapter doesn’t have to be your last.
Friend, your sin doesn’t get the final word.
Jesus does.
